Ephesians 4:17-24: Dressed for Different
Nov 16, 2025 • Jeremy Mignerey
Paul uses the metaphor of changing clothes to describe spiritual transformation in Ephesians 4:17-24. Life without Christ is futile and darkened, like a car with a warped frame that can't function properly. Just as the Ephesians burned their valuable sorcery scrolls worth a fortune, believers must completely surrender the old patterns that hold them back: whether secret sin, addiction, bitterness, shame, or complacency. The gospel isn't just about taking things away; God replaces what we surrender with something better. True transformation requires changing our inputs, renewing our thinking, and practicing faithfulness in small moments to prepare for life's bigger challenges.
